Hi, I’m Meeka!
I’ve lived the first five years of my life as a breeding mama in a barn. I haven’t had much positive interactions with people, so receiving kindness is new to me! But here’s the thing, I’m learning to REALLY love it. I appreciate gentle pets, soft couches, and even sneak in little kisses on the backs of legs when my foster people aren’t looking. I already know that I’m made of pure sweetness and a bit of silliness (have you seen me sitting on my favorite step stool?), and I’m learning that I’m safe to show that now.
Because I haven’t had much time with people, I really look to other dogs to show me the ropes. I need another confident dog in my new home. While I don’t play (yet) with my foster doggie siblings, I do follow them around and enjoy being near them. I’m also good with my foster kitty siblings and just ignore them.
My favorite activity is running free in the yard. I will need a fenced yard so that I can live my best life. I’m an Aussie after all, and I have strong herding instincts. Getting out to stretch my legs is very important. I’ll need lots of good exercise and mental stimulation to keep me happy and healthy. My ideal family will be very active and want to do lots of training with me because I’m also super smart.
I like to play with squeaky toys, do amazingly well in my kennel, and prefer to do my business outside (though I am still learning how to tell my foster family when I need to be let out). I love going on walks, but I’m still figuring out how to walk on the leash. Thankfully, it’s not too hard to keep me walking the right direction because I’m petite, and I want to go where you go.
I know I’m going to be the very best girl in my forever home. Who wouldn’t love such a smart, fun, and loveable little pup? I can’t wait to meet you!
Gentle kisses and Aussie smiles,
Meeka
