Our mission at Spot’s Last Stop is led by volunteers like you! We welcome all who would like to give their time to Spot’s and have many opportunities to help. Volunteers should be ages 13+ with adult supervision or 18+. Spot’s has volunteer opportunities all year round. Volunteer Opportunities
Transport Driver
This two person opportunity involves driving the transport van, picking up the dogs, and bringing them back to rescue. Transports typically happen twice a month and are an overnight stay. Time commitment is 24 hours and hotel and gas are paid for.
Transport Helper
This opportunity is messy and stinky and so worth it! You would be assisting with unloading the dogs from the transport van, getting them organized and into their new foster family’s vehicle. Beware! There may be puppy snuggles and kisses. Sign up occurs the week of intake. Arrival time is typically 2-4p on a Saturday. Time commitment is approximately 2 hours.
Canine Coffee Break Attendee
This opportunity involves picking up the dog at their foster home, bringing him/her to the event, and staying with the dog at the event. After the event you would return the dog to their foster. FREE short time puppy snuggles and play time included. Time commitment is 2-3 hours.
Doggy “Uber”
This involves picking up a foster dog and driving them to an event or an appointment. Depending on the activity it could be a drop off/pick up like a veterinarian appointment or an adoption event where you would stay with the dog and then return them back to the foster’s home. Time commitment varies.
Special Event Volunteer
Help out at special events throughout the year. Previous events include the Minnesota Home and Garden Show, Meat Raffles, Music Festivals and more to raise money and awareness of Spot’s Last Stop Canine Rescue. Time commitment can vary for these events.
Fundraising Volunteer
This involves acquiring donations for silent auction events, asking for specific needs to be met (ex, food/toys), and other general donations needs. Time commitment could be for one need or ongoing.
General Volunteer
Help organize our warehouse space, administrative work as needed, website updating, creating promo materials or building event “sets”, etc. Time commitment varies.
