Are you looking for a sweet, affectionate, playful, smart little gal? Look no further, Joy is the one for you!
Things about me you might like to know:
Breed: Bully Mix
Color: Red/White
Size: 30 lbs
Age: 19wks
Activity level: Moderate. Average puppy energy. I like to play, crash and repeat.
Personality: I am curious and happy-go-lucky. I am a bit shy at first, but warm up quickly. I have been more the submissive type with my foster brothers and sister.
Things I do in my free time: I love to play with any dog toys, tennis balls or chew bones you throw my way. I like to follow my foster mom around the house. If I have the chance to snuggle on the couch I am happy to do so.
Things I know: Sit and recall, I am looking forward to getting to know boundaries and obedience.
Things I am working on: Basic manners and confidence with leash walking. I do need some work at not begging for food. I think I am a little food crazy due to my situation as a puppy.
Kennel: I am doing great with my kennel! I sleep in it all night as well as during the day when my foster family is at school and work. Sometimes, I will go in the kennel for a little wind down time. I do not fuss as long as I have a few toys.
Potty training: I am doing well with potty training as long as I am monitored closely. Currently when I am running and playing in the house my foster mom will set a timer to remind the family when it is time to take me out to potty. It works like a charm! I am still at the age that I do need someone to go outside with me.
Kids: I currently live with a 16 and 14 year old. I am sure I would do well with younger children (just know that I do jump and like to use my mouth for play sometimes).
Dogs: I live with 2 foster brothers (Age 8 and 4) and 1 foster sister (age 13). I have been in tune with their signals and do not over-step their boundaries. They are sure to let me know if my energy is annoying.
Cats: Unknown
Car Rides: Good in the car. No motion sickness.
Walking: I am a good walker with encouragement. I like to check out all of the smells around the neighborhood. I am being fostered in the city, most of our walking is done on the streets. I am a bit scared of the cars going by, more so when it is dark. I will need some continued patience and positive reinforcement to get 100% comfortable. I have made so much progress already. It will be very important that I am taken out or walked on a harness that is escape proof. Currently, when I get nervous I will back up and pull against the leash.
What to expect when you adopt me: You can look forward to having a dependable, smart, cuddly, fun loving best friend!
Additional information: I came up to Minnesota from Alabama with my momma and four littermates. Thankfully, some very amazing people saved us and helped to get us to Spot’s Last Stop to find our forever homes.
Bully breeds and unaltered puppies can not be adopted out of the State of Minnesota.
