Red loves to chill, go for car rides, play, go for short walks to watch the squirrels play, chew on a good bone, and snuggle.

Don’t let the fact that he’s a tri-pod (lost a hind leg)  fool you, he LOVES to play and run with other dogs for short periods. He’s pretty submissive with other dogs and a bit shy when meeting new humans – but a tasty treat will warm him right up!

Speaking of treats, Red lovvvves learning new tricks because he gets all the best treats during training time. He knows sit, down, and stay. He’s been working on threshold waiting, place, and leash walking while in foster. He would enjoy continued training to help build his confidence! Having another dog in his furever home would help build his confidence as well!

Red handles stairs really well but since he has extra pressure on his joints from being a tri, a home with minimal stairs would be best for him long term. He is a true hound and loves to chase squirrels into trees. He also likes to chase the resident cat up into his cat place so it’s probably best for Red to not have a cat in his future home. Red is pretty chill so his furever home would need to match his energy.

When he’s not playing, you could find him snoozing away on any dog bed he can find. His number one request for a furever family is a dog bed in every room!
