Nope – this adorable fluffball is not a stuffed animal! She is real, and is even cuter in person. Lily is a 16 week old shepherd mix (best guess) with the softest, fluffiest coat, and the sweetest disposition. She and her sister were found in a kennel at the side of a highway in the middle of a thunderstorm – but she hasn’t let her unfortunate beginnings slow her down.
Things to know about Lily:
- She’s a little nervous in new situations – unfamiliar sounds and new dogs take some time to get used to. But once she gets used to something new, she is happy and affectionate
- Temperament – very calm, quiet and easygoing for a puppy! She hangs out next to her foster mom during the work day, occasionally getting up to get a new toy to play with.
- Works in progress: crate training and housebreaking. She sleeps quietly in her crate in her foster parents bedroom, but cries when she first goes in. She has had only a couple of potty accidents, but does not yet signal when she needs to go out. She still has an occasionally happy/ nervous dribble, which puppies grow out of.
- Things Lily likes: chasing a ball, walks, stuffed toys and bones – she loves to take every toy out of the toy bin, belly rubs, snuggles, looking at herself in the mirror (who can blame her – she’s so beautiful!) and SQUIRRELS!
- Lily’s favorite person is the teenager in her foster home. She has also met some younger kids and was very calm and gentle with them – we think she would be a great family dog for an active family who wants a bigger dog
- She is respectful with the older dogs she is fostered with- if they let her know they don’t want to play, she backs off.
Overall, Lily is just a gem – adorable, sweet, calm and a lot of fun! We think Lily would be the perfect addition to almost any home – is your family the lucky one to adopt her?
Bully breeds and unaltered puppies can not be adopted out of the State of Minnesota.
